Back in Black Photography was born in the sleepy little town of Traverse City, Michigan, & is now growing up Portland, Oregon. Its caregiver is Sara Randall Almirall, whose purpose is to provide all those willing with quality black & white and colour prints.

I have studied and earned Studio Art degrees from both Denison University and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. While attending NSCAD, I discovered a technique I have dubbed Darkroom Manipulation. This process involves printing from negatives that have been manipulated by burns, sandpaper, lip-gloss, toners, rips, scrubs, etc. The process seems absolutely limitless-which only adds to my fascination.

After completing time as a Photographer's Assistant at a Traverse City studio, I chose to build a darkroom and concentrate on what my own photography could create. Relocating to Oregon has provided me with even more enthusiasm for my medium. Photography is one of the most enthralling crafts in the world to me, and I adore each day I am able to work and play with it.
